How to care for your Sophie Home products

Our materials are carefully sourced and we manufacture ethically with the best people we can find. We consider the entire life-cycle of our products from how they are made and will be used, to what happens to them at their life-end.

Here are our top tips to help you keep your Sophie Home purchases looking, and feeling, great!

Cotton knit throws

Wash your cotton knit throws at 30° in the washing machine, but don’t tumble dry them; they don’t like it and could bobble.

Cotton knit cushions

Our cushion covers have a zip at the bottom, making them easy to wash and air dry (don’t tumble dry them).

Your cushion will arrive with a vacuum-packed cushion filler, it plumps up in no time; just leave the cushion on the sofa to do its thing!

Wool blankets

Our New Zealand Wool blankets are dry clean only. This is to ensure they stay looking as good as new, for as long as possible.

Our wool is traceable right back to farm – you may well still be able to smell the sheep! This is completely normal – and fades quickly. A little fluffy shedding is also to be expected and also reduces over time.

Dishcloths

Machine wash your dishcloths at 30° along with your regular laundry loads. They won’t start to smell over time, and will last for ages.

When you are finally done with them, you can chop them up and pop them in the compost!

Kids toys

The biodegradable filling we use in our kids toys doesn’t stop them from being completely safe in the mouth - or in the washing machine. Wash at 30° and leave to air dry. We recommend spot cleaning too for a quick fix.

Kids accessories

All of our kids accessories are machine washable at 30°, but don’t tumble dry them – they don’t like it and will stay looking fresher for longer if you don’t.
