Packaging & Recycling Guide

At Sophie Home, we want to make it easier for our customers to re-use and recycle the packaging that comes with their orders.

Below you'll find information about the different types of product and shipping packaging we use, along with guidance on how to dispose of them responsibly.

Recycling facilities and collection requirements vary by country and region, so please always check your local recycling guidelines.

Branded Ribbon & Swing Tickets

Disposal: Separate the ribbon and cardboard swing tickets. Recycle the tickets with paper and cardboard where accepted locally.

Check local textile recycling options for the ribbon, or reuse it.

Kraft Belly Band

Disposal: Remove the belly band from the product, flatten it and recycle with paper and cardboard.

Kraft Backing Card

Disposal: Separate the product from the backing card and recycle the cardboard with paper and cardboard collections.

Kraft Product Box

Disposal: Flatten the box and recycle with paper and cardboard.

Cardboard Shipping Box

We use corrugated cardboard boxes to protect products during shipping.

Disposal: Remove any non-paper packaging where practical, flatten the box and recycle with cardboard collections.

Kraft Paper Mailing Bag

Our paper mailing bags are used to ship selected orders without additional built-in padding.

Disposal: Remove any detachable non-paper components where practical, flatten the bag and recycle with paper collections where accepted locally.

Clear Poly Bag

Poly bags may be used to protect selected products from dust, dirt and moisture during storage and shipping, and to vacuum pack cushions.

Disposal: Check local recycling facilities for plastic film or flexible plastic collections. These materials may require separate collection and should not be placed in household recycling bins unless accepted locally.

Kraft Paper Void Fill

Paper void fill is used to cushion and protect products inside shipping boxes.

Disposal: Re-use where possible or recycle with paper and cardboard collections.

Helping to Reduce Packaging Waste

We encourage our customers to re-use packaging wherever practical and to separate materials correctly when disposing of them.

By following local recycling guidance, you can help reduce waste, support material recovery and prevent unnecessary pollution.

European Union Packaging Regulations

The European Union's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), Regulation (EU) 2025/40, introduces requirements to reduce packaging waste and improve packaging sustainability across the EU.

This guide provides information to help customers identify, separate and dispose of Sophie Home packaging responsibly.
